About the role

  • Lead PayPal Global Fraud Prevention performance analytics, forecasting, and strategic insights
  • Develop, communicate, and drive vision for performance analytics and fraud risk data science functions
  • Champion ML/AI approaches to fraud analytics and risk mitigation
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire teams of data scientists, analysts, financial planners, and governance specialists
  • Partner with Risk, Data Science, Finance, Legal, Compliance, and Product teams to embed data-driven insights
  • Oversee design, development, and implementation of advanced fraud detection models and analytical frameworks
  • Establish and maintain rigorous data quality, privacy, security, and governance standards
  • Manage financial planning, resource allocation, and develop KPIs to monitor fraud trends and program effectiveness

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Business, or related discipline; or equivalent professional experience
  • At least 18 years of progressive experience in analytics, risk management, data science, or fraud prevention
  • Minimum of 5 years in a senior management or leadership role
  • Proven track record leading large-scale data science or analytics projects with measurable business outcomes
  • Deep expertise in fraud risk analytics, financial planning, data governance, and strategic risk management
  • Strong business acumen and ability to translate complex data insights into strategic recommendations
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills
  • Preferred: Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD)
  • Preferred: Experience in financial services or payments industry
  • Preferred: Expertise in machine learning, AI, and modern data engineering platforms
  • Preferred: Familiarity with PayPal’s business model, fraud risk landscape, and regulatory environment
