Key responsibilities & impact

Acts as a project or system leader
Determines the technical tasks that other engineers follow
Proactively improves existing structures & processes
Exercises judgment in reconciling diverse and competing priorities
Collaborates with management to set/improve standards for engineering rigor
Lead major initiatives end-to-end
Continually raise the bar through assisting fellow engineers
Troubleshoot incidents, identify root causes, and implement preventive measures
Coach and mentor engineers on design principles and best practices

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years relevant experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
7+ years' experience in software development or related field
5+ years' experience operating distributed applications 24x7x365
2+ years technical leadership experience
extensive hands-on experience with designing, implementing and supporting infrastructure (AWS experience preferred)
deep hands-on experience with IaaS and PaaS solutions from AWS
hands-on programming and scripting (Python, Java, Bash, Go)
hands-on experience with containers & container orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes
strong communication skills
