About the role
- Design and develop ML solutions including personalization, recommendation, and ranking of deals and promotion across Brands and surfaces
- Set technical direction of team and build/define next generation shopping discovery recommendation engine leveraging PayPal’s two-sided network
- Develop and implement advanced ML frameworks such as graph neural networks and deep learning models for recommendation, personalization, shopping ranking and recommendations
- Design and deploy scalable generative AI solutions and scalable AI solutions that enhance customer experience
- Work closely with engineering group and PayPal's Platforms organization to deploy solutions
- Communicate complex concepts and model results to technical and non-technical audiences and influence partners
- Shape architecture and bring alignment across platform teams on MLOps flows
- Influence team direction and bring state-of-the-art solutions to market
Requirements
- Masters degree or equivalent experience in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, etc.) with 7+ yrs. of relevant industry experience OR PhD with 6+ yrs. of relevant industry experience
- Experience in Recommendation /Ranking, Personalization, Search or Ads a big plus
- Proficient in Programming languages such as Python, SQL
- Familiarity in relevant machine learning frameworks and packages such as Tensorflow and PyTorch
- GCP/Hadoop and big data experience – an advantage
- Experience shipping Realtime models a big plus
- Fluent spoken and written English communication with business and engineering partners
