About the role
- Deliver complete testing solutions spanning all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
- Advise immediate management on project-level backend and web testing issues and guide junior engineers
- Design, implement, and maintain backend API testing frameworks and Playwright-based web automation platforms
- Execute backend testing strategies: microservices, database, integration, ETL, and contract testing
- Implement CI/CD integrations and shift-left testing practices for backend services and web applications
- Develop comprehensive test plans, test strategies, API documentation, execution reports, and quality assessments
- Apply testing methodologies including contract testing, chaos engineering, property-based testing, model-based and mutation testing
- Implement web accessibility (WCAG) and internationalization testing approaches
- Leverage GenAI tools for test generation, optimization, and productivity improvements
- Lead and take ownership of backend and web testing projects, deliverables, timelines, and technical decisions
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Experience delivering complete solutions across the SDLC (design, implementation, testing, delivery, operations)
- Experience with backend API testing and web automation (Playwright)
- Experience with microservices testing, database testing, integration testing, ETL testing
- Experience with CI/CD pipeline integration for backend services and web applications
- Experience implementing unit, integration, contract, and end-to-end testing
- Knowledge of web accessibility testing and WCAG compliance
- Experience with internationalization/localization testing strategies
- Familiarity with contract testing, consumer-driven contract testing, chaos engineering, property-based testing, model-based testing, mutation testing
- Experience leveraging GenAI/AI-powered testing tools and machine learning applications in testing
- Familiarity with cloud-native testing strategies and serverless architecture testing
- Experience in financial services or regulated industries, payment processing systems, and compliance testing
- Familiarity with agile/scrum methodologies
- Strong technical writing and documentation skills
