About the role
- Lead the development and implementation of advanced data science models and algorithms
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions
- Drive best practices in data science and ensure data quality and integrity in all processes
- Mentor and guide junior data scientists
- Work with Global Fraud Prevention and Global Risk Management to support SMB acquisition strategies
- Focus on managing Americas acquisition strategies to support the growth of SMB line of business globally
- Work closely with SMB business leaders, Risk Products, Decision Science, Fraud Operations, and Engineering to execute acquisition risk management roadmap
- Mitigate 3rd party fraud, 1st party abuse, and money movement risks
- Provide solutions to tactical and strategic business problems and develop acquisition roadmap to support profitable business growth
- Conduct thorough analysis with available data tools and provide detailed insights transformed into risk strategies
- Set up detailed portfolio monitoring, manage credit exposure, and conduct sensitivity testing
- Evaluate internal models and implement them in risk strategies; partner with product and platform teams to execute strategies and conduct A/B testing
- Be the voice of risk management and help solve complex problems within defined risk box
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in financial technology, banking, or payments in developing and implementing risk strategies to mitigate losses
- Strong knowledge in data analytics to extract, analyze and transform data into risk strategy recommendations for profitable business growth
- Knowledge of existing/emerging regulatory frameworks related to consumer and SMB acquisition
- Experience working with Product and Engineering organizations (preferred)
- Well organized, with ability to manage numerous projects under deadline pressure
- High level of intellectual, professional, and interpersonal agility/flexibility
- Strong analytical/problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to build/maintain relationships with key stakeholders to execute the risk roadmap
- Strong communication skills in explaining complex matters in a simple and clear manner
