Modernize codebase by migrating UIKit to SwiftUI, adopting async/await, and improving build times.
Partner with server teams to craft efficient GraphQL and REST APIs.
Champion performance, accessibility, and reliability; measure SLIs.
Mentor other iOS engineers through pairing, design sessions, and feedback.
Prototype new commerce ideas and AI‑powered features and bring successful spikes to production.
Act as a project or system leader, coordinate activities of other engineers, set/improve standards for engineering rigor, and represent PayPal externally.
Requirements
Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
8+ years building and shipping consumer iOS apps, with at least 2 years as a technical lead or staff‑level IC.
Expert‑level Swift (and comfort reading Objective‑C) plus deep knowledge of SwiftUI, UIKit, Combine, async/await, and networking.
Experience shipping complex features at scaleoffline‑first flows, concurrency, real‑time updates, or high‑fidelity animations.
Familiarity with mobile AI/MLCore ML, on‑device inferenceor a willingness to learn and lead adoption.
Ability to explain complex trade‑offs in plain language and align cross‑functional partners around a technical vision.
