About the role

  • Buy Now Pay Later Engineering team is responsible for creating new development features for our global pay-later product.
  • Solutions must scale with high availability and flexibility to support the business.
  • A successful candidate will be a customer-focused software engineer who can work effectively in a high-performing team, creatively balance high-quality delivery with customer focus to meet business needs
  • Essential Responsibilities: Delivers complete solutions spanning all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) (design, implementation, testing, delivery and operations), based on definitions from more senior roles.
  • Advises immediate management on project-level issues
  • Guides junior engineers
  • Operates with little day-to-day supervision, making technical decisions based on knowledge of internal conventions and industry best practices
  • Applies knowledge of technical best practices in making decisions
  • Minimum Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred Qualification: Experience with authoring high-level design diagrams
  • Knowledge of building GraphQL-based APIs and working with TypeScript
  • Knowledge of popular web frameworks such as NextJS or React
  • Knowledge of testing frameworks that follow the best practices of customer functional testing
  • Acumen with AI-assisted coding practices, such as prompt and plan-based coding using Code Assist tools such as Github Copilot, Gemini, and Claude, is preferred
  • If not, the candidate should bring an eagerness to learn
