About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own and manage the Information Systems Security Officer component of the Local Registration Authority (LRA) program
- Ensure that all operations maintain strict adherence to Department of War (DoW) standards
- Comply fully with the United States Department of Defense X.509 Certificate Policy
- Provide the US Navy with excellent information technology customer service support
- Manage, authorize, and execute account activations on the SIPR network
- Monitor, analyze, and directly action Information Assurance (IA) events and security incidents
- Serve as the primary ISSO authority for the LRA program
- Ensure continuous compliance with PKI audit mandates and DoW security standards
- Implement and enforce strict protocols for the Protection of Audit Logs
- Oversee and validate Off-Site Backups and the Protection of Archives to guarantee data integrity, security, and availability
Requirements
What you’ll need- Seven years (min) of professional Information Technology Security (INFOSEC) support
- at least 3 years' experience with Navy networks
- Extensive, hands-on knowledge of the DoD X.509 Certificate Policy
- Proven experience passing and maintaining compliance for PKI audits
- Deep understanding of DoW IA standards, secure network operations (SIPR), and enterprise access protocols (SAAR)
- Strong technical background in audit log protection, secure data archiving, and recovery of corrupted systems
- Experience using Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)
- Active Secret Clearance
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent additional work experience)
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in a technology field
- Ten years (min) of INFOSEC support experience
- At least 5 years' experience with Navy networks
- Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy as a key member of a small team
