About the role
- Lead, coach, and manage the Personal Lines Client Services team.
- Set quarterly goals, develop strategies, and motivate the team to achieve objectives.
- Conduct regular team meetings and establish/document standard operating procedures.
- Manage new business processes, including quote timelines, underwriter negotiations, and workflow optimization.
- Drive client retention with proactive renewal processes and a target retention rate of 90%.
- Handle escalated client issues and oversee policy reviews, rounding, and referral generation.
- Coach and train team members on system use, carrier appetite, and customer service best practices.
- Ensure excellent client experience with timely call returns, follow-up protocols, and service standards.
- Oversee team operations including hiring, training, performance reviews, incentive programs, and scheduling.
- Participate in agency management activities such as meeting with carrier representatives, creating workflows, and tracking departmental metrics.
- Manage a small book of business (10-15%) alongside leadership responsibilities.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in a similar leadership role
- Active Property & Casualty Agent License
- Strong knowledge of insurance products, markets, rating, and underwriting
- Familiarity with Applied EPIC or similar agency management systems preferred
- Excellent leadership, coaching, and communication skills
- College degree preferred.
