About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform functional and performance testing on automation tools, fixtures, and components.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, controls and software-related issues within test setups.
  • Manage test data, document results, and identify system flaws.
  • Record test outcomes, anomalies, and corrective actions in a clear, organized manner.
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to improve test procedures and tooling designs.
  • Assist in the development, testing, and validation of new automation tools and fixtures.
  • Maintain test equipment and ensure a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective action plans for test failures.
  • Perform additional related duties as needed.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Associate degree or technical certification in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Automation Technology, or related fields preferred
  • 2+ years in a test technician or test engineering role
  • Hands-on experience testing PLCs, sensors, actuators, and industrial automation systems
  • Exposure to software/coding within automated systems
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read technical drawings, including control diagrams and electrical/mechanical layouts
  • Previous experience with PLC Studio 5000
  • Ability to safely make 480VAC, 120VAC, and Ethernet connections
  • Basic mechanical skills (e.g., removing VFD covers, aligning switches)
  • Familiarity with ISO or other quality standards
  • Strong written communication skills for documenting technical assessments
  • Ability to independently manage workload, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
