About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform functional and performance testing on automation tools, fixtures, and components.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, controls and software-related issues within test setups.
- Manage test data, document results, and identify system flaws.
- Record test outcomes, anomalies, and corrective actions in a clear, organized manner.
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to improve test procedures and tooling designs.
- Assist in the development, testing, and validation of new automation tools and fixtures.
- Maintain test equipment and ensure a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective action plans for test failures.
- Perform additional related duties as needed.
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
- Associate degree or technical certification in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Automation Technology, or related fields preferred
- 2+ years in a test technician or test engineering role
- Hands-on experience testing PLCs, sensors, actuators, and industrial automation systems
- Exposure to software/coding within automated systems
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read technical drawings, including control diagrams and electrical/mechanical layouts
- Previous experience with PLC Studio 5000
- Ability to safely make 480VAC, 120VAC, and Ethernet connections
- Basic mechanical skills (e.g., removing VFD covers, aligning switches)
- Familiarity with ISO or other quality standards
- Strong written communication skills for documenting technical assessments
- Ability to independently manage workload, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
