About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and manage engineers and technicians
- Provide technical supervision and design for pavement, utilities, grading, site elements, and drainage
- Develop and manage clients, including relationships, financial accounting, and responsiveness
- Apply local zoning ordinances, subdivision regulations, and other design criteria
- Manage in-house and external surveying support
- Participate in community, civic, technical, and professional organizations
- Develop proposals, scopes, and fees and track performance
- Develop and maintain relationships with City departments
- Present at hearings, Commissions, and Council meetings
- Design office, retail, industrial, and institutional sites
- Support residential subdivisions from land acquisition to finished lots
- Work on municipal roadway, drainage, and planning projects
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in engineering required
- Professional engineer registration in Texas
- Minimum 6 years of experience in the types of responsibilities listed
- Experience with plans production and management
- Experience with entitlements such as Platting, Zoning, and Municipal Permitting
- Experience with Site Planning and Development Master Planning
- Experience with Grading and Drainage Design
- Experience with Street and Alley Design
- Experience with Site Design
- Experience with Water and Wastewater Design
- Experience with Hydrology and Hydraulics Analysis and Design
- Experience with General Civil Design
- Experience with Construction Management
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and ArcGIS
- Experience with SWP3s
- Excellent written and oral communication skills to interact effectively with clients, staff, municipal authorities, vendors, and contractors
- Must be able to attend City Council/client meetings as needed
