About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and manage engineers and technicians
  • Provide technical supervision and design for pavement, utilities, grading, site elements, and drainage
  • Develop and manage clients, including relationships, financial accounting, and responsiveness
  • Apply local zoning ordinances, subdivision regulations, and other design criteria
  • Manage in-house and external surveying support
  • Participate in community, civic, technical, and professional organizations
  • Develop proposals, scopes, and fees and track performance
  • Develop and maintain relationships with City departments
  • Present at hearings, Commissions, and Council meetings
  • Design office, retail, industrial, and institutional sites
  • Support residential subdivisions from land acquisition to finished lots
  • Work on municipal roadway, drainage, and planning projects

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering required
  • Professional engineer registration in Texas
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in the types of responsibilities listed
  • Experience with plans production and management
  • Experience with entitlements such as Platting, Zoning, and Municipal Permitting
  • Experience with Site Planning and Development Master Planning
  • Experience with Grading and Drainage Design
  • Experience with Street and Alley Design
  • Experience with Site Design
  • Experience with Water and Wastewater Design
  • Experience with Hydrology and Hydraulics Analysis and Design
  • Experience with General Civil Design
  • Experience with Construction Management
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and ArcGIS
  • Experience with SWP3s
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to interact effectively with clients, staff, municipal authorities, vendors, and contractors
  • Must be able to attend City Council/client meetings as needed
