About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Prepare plans, reports, and studies for review
- Direct technicians and EITs for production of engineering documents for routine projects accurately and efficiently
- Interface with clients when appropriate alongside Project Managers
- Visit construction sites to observe progress and determine general conformance to engineering plans and specifications
- Research design criteria, regulations, and standards and incorporate them into design documents
- Mentor others in the proficient use of design software
- Review and approve structural designs for quality and code compliance
- Provide guidance on complex design issues
- Lead design teams, including EITs, technicians, and other licensed engineers on large or complex projects
- Manage design effort, including planning hours for members of the structural project team
- Actively develop EITs and mid-level engineers
- Manage project health, including fees, schedule, and hours
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or architectural engineering
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Ability to use Revit/BIM
- Minimum 15 years of structural building design experience in a consulting role
