About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Conduct legal research and analyze complex legal issues.
Assist in the preparation and presentation of cases, including drafting pleadings and briefs.
Participate in depositions, mediations, and other pre-trial and trial proceedings.
Represent clients in court, including real estate, business partnership disputes, general litigation matters, and personal injury.
Provide legal advice and counsel to clients, including litigation strategies and settlement negotiations.
Collaborate with other attorneys and other team members to achieve case goals.
Keep up-to-date with changes in relevant laws, regulations, and court decisions.
Maintain accurate and detailed records of all case-related activity.
Perform administrative tasks related to legal cases, including document management and legal document preparation.
Utilize Westlaw and other legal databases to conduct research and stay current with legal developments.

Requirements

What you’ll need

A Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA accredited law school.
Admission to the New Mexico State Bar.
Excellent research and writing skills.
Ability to litigate effectively in court.
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Proficiency in legal administrative tasks, including document preparation and management.
Experience with legal databases, including Westlaw.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work well in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
