About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Evaluate the insurance needs of clients and prospects (ensuring no gaps or lapses in coverage)
  • Regularly follow-up with all prospects
  • Work with a team to establish and achieve to develop new business
  • Work to grow your department and increase the profitability of the company as a whole
  • Determine each client’s needs, extent of present coverage, and long-term needs to determine the best insurance products to meet their needs
  • Review applications, renewal requests, and endorsements for accuracy, ensuring they are compliant with underwriting guidelines
  • Calculate premiums and rates; apply payments and/or refunds
  • Complete the binding, invoicing, premium collection, and file documentation of assigned accounts
  • Process cancellations; proactively inquire and document reasons for cancellation
  • Keep in touch with policy holders for changes, updates, new options, or problems with their coverage
  • Consistently document activities and attach correspondences daily in Park’s broker management system
  • Develop and maintain respectful, professional, and friendly working relationships with colleagues, company underwriters and anyone we do business with
  • Actively listen to colleagues’ suggestions; contribute to team meetings
  • Mentor others using your insurance expertise
  • Update your personal lines insurance knowledge through continuing education
  • Actively support Park’s participation in organizational culture, community events and industry events

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Hold at minimum, a Level 1 Insurance Broker licence in British Columbia,
  • Level 2 or willingness to obtain preferred.
  • At least 3-5 years experience in selling personal lines insurance
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel; Outlook);
  • familiarity with EPIC Applied Systems an asset
  • Affinity for helping others; enjoy being part of a team; are comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
