About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide community visits to assess abilities and needs of individuals
Work with multidisciplinary teams and equipment vendors to facilitate function
Provide in-home or school services for pediatric clients and/or services for adults with medical/health concerns
Analyze physical, cultural, social, institutional, and economic environmental impacts on occupational performance and engagement
Develop client-centered plans with clients and inter-professional teams
Adjust services to reflect a client-centered approach
Apply effective, evidence-based problem-solving and judgment to address client needs
Engage clients collaboratively while building rapport and trust
Maintain current knowledge, skills, and attitudes for safe, efficient, and effective service
Maintain professional client records in compliance with ParaMed policies and regulatory standards

Requirements

What you’ll need

Registration with the provincial College of Occupational Therapists (in good standing)
Accepting New Graduates
Licensed ADP authorization considered an asset
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of applicable community resources available for clients and families
Current certification (within the past 12 months) of First Aid and CPR
A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
Able to provide a current, clear Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS)
Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams
Ability to provide community visits for pediatric and/or adult clients
