About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide community visits to assess abilities and needs of individuals
- Work with multidisciplinary teams and equipment vendors to facilitate function
- Provide in-home or school services for pediatric clients and/or services for adults with medical/health concerns
- Analyze physical, cultural, social, institutional, and economic environmental impacts on occupational performance and engagement
- Develop client-centered plans with clients and inter-professional teams
- Adjust services to reflect a client-centered approach
- Apply effective, evidence-based problem-solving and judgment to address client needs
- Engage clients collaboratively while building rapport and trust
- Maintain current knowledge, skills, and attitudes for safe, efficient, and effective service
- Maintain professional client records in compliance with ParaMed policies and regulatory standards
Requirements
What you’ll need- Registration with the provincial College of Occupational Therapists (in good standing)
- Accepting New Graduates
- Licensed ADP authorization considered an asset
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of applicable community resources available for clients and families
- Current certification (within the past 12 months) of First Aid and CPR
- A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
- Able to provide a current, clear Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS)
- Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to provide community visits for pediatric and/or adult clients
