About the role
- Develop, design, and execute a variety of tasks and analyses on electric markets, policy proposals, and business strategies.
- Support analysis (both qualitative and quantitative) and coordinate internally to help inform the company’s positions and strategies.
- Engage in relevant CPUC stakeholder processes including through developing comments, creating presentations, and potentially presenting at stakeholder meetings.
- Research and communicate emerging regulatory issues and/or policy issues.
- At all times, be a positive force for the team and bring teammates along to achieve objectives together.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Business, Finance, Policy, Sociology, Engineering, Physics or other related fields or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of two years of related work experience
- Experience in energy markets, portfolio management and energy policy development and advocacy strongly preferred.
- Possess an in-depth understanding of electric utility operations, utility planning, credit and risk management, quantitative analysis, law and regulatory relations, utility revenue requirement and ratemaking
- Demonstrated experience successfully working with cross-functional teams
- Understanding of PG&E’s and/or California’s energy, capacity, and clean energy procurement and sales rules and strategies and CPUC oversight
- Ability to draft written comments in regulatory proceedings, be an effective presenter at public workshops, and sponsor expert witness testimony
- Demonstrated skills: Team player, effective project manager, strong writing skills, decisiveness, business understanding, good organizational and communication skills, and the ability to flourish in a highly fluid environment with multiple high priority tasks.
