About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide direct nursing care in accordance with organizational policies, procedures, and protocols
- Perform problem definition, data collection, interpretation, and analysis
- Implement and monitor patient care plans
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate
- Coordinate all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care
- Carry out physician and nursing orders
- Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning with patients, families, and the healthcare team
- Assess patient and family learning needs and provide education based on age, culture, and willingness to learn
- Perform duties in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act
- Support Owensboro Health’s mission, vision, core commitments, and business interests
- Adhere to organizational policies and procedures and promote compliance, safety, and high reliability
Requirements
What you’ll need- No experience required
- Associate's degree or higher or Diploma in Nursing required upon hire
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing required within 5 years of employment in this position
- RN licensed as a Registered Nurse and eligible to practice nursing in the State of Kentucky required upon hire
- BLS certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 45 days of employment
- Critical thinking skills and decisive judgment
- Ability to work under general supervision
- Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
- Advanced skills and knowledge in the area of specialization
- Must meet the stated clinical-hospital physical demands
Benefits
Comp & perks- Full-time 0.9 FTE (72 hours per pay period)
