Lead the development and execution of shopper insight initiatives that drive category and brand growth
Field custom studies and marry them with existing research to create clear and actionable recommendations for internal and external stakeholders
Translate and combine complex shopper data and research into actionable insights to influence brand, customer, and channel strategies
Identify evolving shopper behaviors, purchase drivers, and barriers across different channels (brick-and-mortar, e-commerce, omnichannel)
Partner with Category Management to bring insights and recommendations to retailers to drive strategic objectives and partnerships
Work with cross-functional teams (Brand, Consumer Insights, Sales, Shopper Marketing, Communications) to shape strategy, messaging, positioning, and innovation based on shopper behavior
In partnership with the Director of Category Management, evaluate and implement new tools, platforms, or vendors to improve insight delivery and decision-making
Link shopper insights directly to sales, category growth, marketing and brand initiatives to influence decision-making
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Marketing or equivalent direct industry experience
8+ years of experience in shopper insights or category management within the CPG industry
Ability to travel 25% for company events, team meetings, customer meetings, company onboarding and other business needs
Shopper-Centric Mindset: Deep curiosity about the "why behind the buy" and an ability to champion the shopper across the business and with retailers
Comfortable navigating ambiguity, working independently, proactively identifying opportunities, and working on multiple projects and workstreams concurrently
Skilled in crafting compelling narratives from data, and influencing with credibility
Strong understanding of shopper behavior, retail environments, and category dynamics
Proven track record of leading shopper-focused research initiatives that impacted commercial decisions
Constantly looking for new tools, trends, and methods to enhance shopper understanding and drive better commercial outcomes
Familiarity with tools like IRI Unify, Spectra, Numerator, ShopperSights, Kantar, or similar
Team-oriented and cultural fit attributes (teamwork, ownership mindset, raising standards, empathy, candid communication)
