Own the entire standard costing process including but not limited to periodic rate reviews, new product cost development, annual cost builds & rollups, & cost audits
Manage & summarize month end variances & understand their drivers. Own the capitalized variance capture & amortization process
Partner with Plant Controller, & FP&A to understand ECS overhead rates & related monthly variance & recommend actions if material variances are noted
Work closely with Plant Controller team to ensure production & inventory transactions are completed prior to period end activities & gain insights into variances or issues seen
Drive constant improvement of costing accuracy, forecasting and overall visibility of our egg and butter COGS
Support year end audit activities with our internal & external audit partners & participate in year-end physical inventory
Continuously evaluate and streamline processes and reports, working closely with the team to drive change enhancing improvements.
Develop, implement, and monitor internal control processes and procedures and ensure compliance with SOX and other regulatory requirements.
Be the subject matter expert on costing and drive continuous improvement
Develop deep understanding of production processes and material sourcing
Proactively identify and raise costing and process improvement opportunities
Provide leadership and training to the cost team.
Collaborate with FP&A, cross-functional teams and senior management on special projects, strategic initiatives and other ad-hoc analyses/projects as needed.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Business or Accounting, (MBA or CPA, preferred)
Minimum of 5-7 years in cost and inventory accounting role, food and beverage industry preferred
Ability to travel 10-15% for company offsites and events, team meetings, company onboarding, training and other business needs.
Excellent excel skills
Deep experience working with ERP systems (D365 is a plus)
