About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Contributes to ONC’s mission of providing nonpartisan news, opinions, and policy solutions
  • Completes essential tasks in the technology department
  • Undergo changes to our website and conceptualize new designs in Figma
  • Work on the design for our mobile app
  • Create designs for graphics, newsletters, advertisements, fliers etc.
  • Work closely with the COO, CEO, Team Lead, Director of Technology and other UI/UX Design Interns while also working independently

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Interest in UI/UX Design or working towards a degree in Graphic Design, UI/UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science and/or related fields
  • Experience with the modern design and prototyping software Figma required
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, ReactJS or similar front-end frameworks preferred
  • Knowledge of InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop a plus
  • Responsive, consistent, and effective communicator, even during conflict
  • Ability to work remotely and on their own schedule in order to make deadlines
  • Ability to attend the weekly I.T. meetings
  • Ability to attend weekly UI/UX Design team meetings
  • Must be authorized to intern in the U.S.
