About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Edge ice before games
Shovel snow away from exit doors
Remove and replace hockey nets for the Zamboni driver
Ensure all ice pads are resurfaced according to facility schedules
Complete weekly and daily maintenance on all ice pads
Complete minor repairs on ice surfaces, dasher boards, safety shields, and other equipment
Perform general maintenance and cleaning around the facility, including picking up litter, emptying trash bins, and cleaning dressing rooms and washrooms
Operate and drive the Zamboni to perform ice resurfacing duties
Perform other duties as requested by the Arena & Facility Manager and Director of Operations
Work in compliance with OHSA, regulations, and internal policies and procedures
Use required protective equipment, devices, or clothing
Report missing or defective equipment and OHSA or policy contraventions
Complete required online training modules and attend scheduled on-site training sessions

Requirements

What you’ll need

Energetic and enthusiastic, with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
Valid driver's licence required
Physically able to lift 50 lbs
Comfortable working at heights
Knowledge of materials, equipment, and methods used in ice resurfacing
Knowledge of occupational hazards and standard safety precautions
Familiarity with tools and maintenance equipment
Willingness to work varied schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Bilingual French and English preferred
Entry-level experience accepted
