About the role

  • The Virtual Design & Data Solutions (VDDS) Associate Engineering Technician plays a key role in supporting the development of high ‑ quality engineering deliverables for these complex infrastructure projects.
  • Under general supervision, this position performs technical tasks requiring intermediate knowledge of engineering principles and practices, with a focus on creating and modifying site development plans using industry ‑ standard design tools, such as Autodesk Civil 3D and/or Bentley MicroStation.
  • Supports engineering teams under general supervision
  • Performs technical tasks requiring intermediate knowledge of engineering principles and practices
  • Uses digital tools and design software (e.g., CAD, BIM, 3D modeling)
  • Creates, updates, and maintains technical documentation, drawings, and project deliverables
  • Begins providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineering technicians

Requirements

  • Autodesk Civil 3D and/or Bentley MicroStation
  • Basic Civil 3D experience with knowledge of alignments, pipe networks, plan/profile, and sections.
  • Basic Civil 3D experience with proposed grading and surfaces.
  • Diploma or Certificate required. Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology preferred.
