About the role
- Ensure that products meet functional specifications and perform as required.
- Testing to ensure that new features meet the acceptance criteria defined by the QA team.
- Manual Testing of front-end web systems.
- Cross-functional browser testing.
- Risk Based Testing.
- Web API testing.
- Regression Testing.
- Performance Testing.
- Identify and clearly record defects on a central database.
- Follow departmental work instructions to appropriately assign priority to defects.
- Create, maintain and follow test cases based on product specifications.
- Record ‘Test Runs’ to provide evidence of product maturity and test coverage.
- Create or Maintain release notes / documentation relating to the products being tested.
- Suggest and record product enhancements which could be incorporated into future releases.
- Identify new opportunities to improve test quality and coverage and identify automated testing opportunities.
- Reviewing the output of automated tests suites.
- Maintain test environments and deploy new code releases / software packages for QA.
- Providing support / information to end users and project stakeholders as required.
- Demonstrate Flexibility within the job role as business needs dictate.
- Liaise with the Software Development teams (local and remote) to understand system functionality.
- Liaise with Product Management team to understand system and customer requirements.
- Liaise with the Hosted Solutions team to understand and assist where necessary with deployments of new releases or customer support issues.
Requirements
- An enthusiastic, pragmatic, and driven QA professional with a passion for manual testing.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 1+ years of experience in a QA role (manual test).
- SQL skills to interrogate databases.
- Knowledge of web-based software testing/evaluation and API’s, Access Control and Security Products.
- Installation & configuration of Windows operating systems and associated software.
- Following, modifying, and creating accurate test cases.
- Interpret and follow product specifications to ensure stakeholder expectations are met.
- Ability to write clear, well-structured reports and technical documents.
- Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and associated test methodologies.
- Understanding of test management tools.
- Good communication skills and English skills.
