About the role

  • Provide over the phone and video remote consecutive interpretation services in a variety of settings, including medical, emergency, legal, social, and customer service environments
  • Accurately and effectively convey messages between speakers of Fulani/Wolof/French and English
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
  • Research and prepare to ensure a thorough understanding
  • Remain culturally sensitive and aware
  • Be punctual, professional, and reliable
  • Familiarize yourself with our company policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Excellent bilingual communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle stressful or emotional situations in a professional manner
  • Outstanding listening, retention and note-taking skills
  • Previous Interpretation experience is preferred but not required
  • Familiarity with medical, legal, and business terminology
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Proficient understanding of cultural sensitivity, and ability to collaborate with people from diverse cultural backgrounds
