About the role
- Technology scouting and trend monitoring in optics, lighting, imaging, sensor technology, and photonics
- Evaluating technical feasibility and innovation potential of new concepts
- Designing and building functional models and prototypes
- Close collaboration with internal development teams (optics, electronics, software, mechanics)
- Defining and simulating new optical concepts
- Conducting feasibility studies and system analyses
- Supporting the transfer of innovative concepts into product development
- Identifying, developing, and filing patents and intellectual property rights
- Collaborating with research partners, universities, and technology suppliers
- Presenting concepts and results to internal committees and decision-making teams
Requirements
- Degree in physics, optics, microscopy, photonics, engineering, or a related field
- Several years of experience in optical system development or microscopy
- Knowledge of optical design
- Experience in experimental setup, prototyping, and system integration
- Experience with imaging and lighting systems, laser technology, or fluorescence techniques
- Understanding of mechanical and electronic interfaces in microscopes
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies and assess their applicability
