About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Prepare tax returns in high quantity including 1040 individual tax returns, amended returns, and state returns.
- Communicate with clients regularly telephonically or via email to respond to client inquiries and provide case status updates.
- Collect and review client documents and ensure they are properly filed in the client’s case file.
- Collaborate regularly with various Optima teams to deliver key components for Optima’s services, including bringing clients to compliance with past due returns.
- Follow company protocols to ensure the highest level of security to protect the client Personal Identifiable Information (PII).
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2 years' tax experience with 1040 individual tax returns.
- Experience with Lacerte Tax Preparation Software, a plus.
- Maintain active California Tax Education Council (“CTEC”) by completing required annual continued education and training.
- Maintain an active Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN) from the IRS during duration in role.
- Have an active Tax Preparer bond from an insurance/surety agent during duration in role.
