About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Define measures with process owners and document business rules behind every number
Write SQL to transform Amazon Aurora and related AWS data stores into clean, reconciled analytical datasets
Build recurring reports and dashboards with documented measures, refresh schedules, and access controls
Trace discrepancies to definitions, timing, filters, and source systems until numbers are explained
Replace manual reporting with repeatable, tested workflows
Produce data provenance, reconciled datasets, dashboards, reports, visualizations, validation checks, reconciliation reports, and issue logs
Use AI-assisted analysis, coding assistants, and language models across the lifecycle
Help develop new capabilities, tools, and lines of business
Own analyses from stakeholder questions through documented answers and contribute to public-value federal programs

Requirements

What you’ll need

3+ years of data analysis experience
Strong working command of SQL
Experience building reports and dashboards in a business intelligence tool such as Power BI, Tableau, or comparable
Familiarity with scripting for analysis using Python or R
Ability to own an analysis from question through delivered, documented answer
U.S. citizenship
Ability to obtain a Public Trust determination
Ability to commute into Washington, DC regularly
Preferred: Experience with cloud data platforms on AWS
Preferred: Federal program, financial, or performance data experience
Preferred: Familiarity with AI-assisted developer and analysis tooling
