About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

On-air work including programming, organizing, performing, hosting and producing shows.
General maintenance of the automation system.
Work on on-air fundraising.
Digital content creation including production of original digital stories, interviews, segments for air, etc.
Graphic design support for web, social, and on-air.
Social media coordinator maintains all platforms and discovering new platforms as they occur.
Homepage editor, updating KMHD.org when needed.
Participation in staff committees and other assignments.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Broadcast experience
Knowledge of jazz (and it’s related genres) history
Able to make appropriate decisions under stress
Experience working with radio and audio production software
Able to work well alone and as part of a team
Must demonstrate a strong commitment to service and an aptitude for public broadcasting
Strong reading and writing skills
Knowledge of the digital media landscape and its applications
Ability to work in a methodical/organized manner
