About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead all aspects of cloud infrastructure and corporate IT operations
Partner with security, engineering, data, customer success, and leadership teams
Architect and implement scalable, reliable, and secure cloud solutions for the data platform and services ecosystem
Write infrastructure-as-code, primarily in Terraform, and guide automation and configuration-management best practices
Grow investment in observability to support products and customers
Design and exercise disaster recovery and business continuity strategies
Scale data and SaaS services while maintaining reliability and performance
Collaborate with leadership and team leads to align technical strategies with business goals
Promote an agile DevOps culture, sound CI/CD, and a seamless developer experience
Establish and refine infrastructure and IT best practices, tools, and processes
Act as a hands-on leader solving technical challenges
Mentor and coach team members
Report directly to the CTO

Requirements

What you’ll need

8+ years' progressively responsible experience working in an Infrastructure environment
5+ years leading and building cloud infrastructure and IT operations in a SaaS and/or data product setting
Azure environment preferred
2+ years' experience working for early-stage startups
Comfort with ambiguity and risk
Strong hands-on expertise with infrastructure-as-code tools, preferably Terraform
Deep understanding of architectures supporting data platforms and service-oriented systems
Ability to drive decisions quickly and invest at the appropriate level without over- or under-engineering
Ability to support security and compliance requirements while balancing business productivity
Demonstrated success mentoring and developing technical team members
Experience overseeing Corporate IT teams
Excellent communication skills and ability to work across diverse teams and stakeholders
Comfortable supporting customers directly
Must be authorized to work indefinitely in the US on a full-time basis for any employer
