About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist with or perform gas and/or liquids pipeline system operations
- Perform operations and maintenance activities on compressor stations, gas storages, dehydration facilities, pumping facilities, measurement facilities, and related equipment
- Conduct startup and shutdown activities, pigging, liquid collection, chart changes, tank gauging, line locating and marking, cathodic protection monitoring, leakage surveys, pipeline patrols, blowing drips, line locates, and construction watch
- Monitor usage and replace lubricants, fluids, inhibitors, and chemicals as needed
- Assist with calculations and compile or prepare flow, quality, maintenance, repair, sample, pipeline, corrosion, construction inspection, and regulatory reports
- Drive and ensure maintenance is completed on company vehicles
- React immediately to emergency situations to prevent injury and property damage
- Perform DOT-covered pipeline operations, maintenance, or emergency response functions
- Travel to other locations up to 30% within assigned geographic regions
- Work Monday through Friday, typically eight hours per day, with on-call responsibilities every other or every third week
Requirements
What you’ll need- Education: None required
- Experience, training and/or knowledge of company and governmental operating, safety, and environmental procedures
- Experience, training and/or knowledge of natural gas and liquids characteristics
- Experience, training and/or knowledge of pigging pipelines, blowing drips, gauging tanks, and collecting liquids
- Experience, training and/or knowledge of construction methods
- Knowledge of cathodic protection and corrosion control activities
- Ability to establish, prioritize, and complete assignments in a timely manner with supervision
- Ability to interact, negotiate, communicate, and exchange written and verbal information and instructions
- Ability to use tools, equipment, computers, and related software
- Ability to apply basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Ability to work in outdoor and industrial environments and perform physically demanding heavy work
- Ability to respond immediately to dangerous, hazardous, and emergency conditions
- Must be alert and follow safety precautions
- Travel to other locations up to 30% in assigned geographic regions required
- May be assigned a company vehicle requiring the applicable driver's license
