About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Install, test, calibrate, repair, and maintain flow meters, regulators, telemetering systems, electronic flow computers, odorant systems, relief valves, and related measurement equipment
- Perform measurement, sampling, regulation, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities at facilities
- Calibrate and maintain test instrumentation and auxiliary equipment
- Drive and maintain a company vehicle as assigned
- Interact with corporate measurement personnel and follow corporate measurement procedures
- Prepare job orders, completion reports, installation/removal documentation, equipment and operational test reports, DOT compliance reports, and sample reports
- Generate batch tickets
- Witness meter calibrations according to contractual obligations
- Support DOT-covered pipeline operations, maintenance, or emergency response functions
- Respond immediately to dangerous or hazardous conditions
- Travel to other locations and perform work across ONEOK’s Oklahoma assets
Requirements
What you’ll need- Training and/or experience relative to meter testing and installation
- Training and/or experience regulating flow and pressure
- Knowledge of company and governmental operating and safety procedures
- Experience servicing and repairing measuring station equipment
- Ability to interpret measurement data
- Knowledge of product characteristics
- Experience reading and interpreting maps, plats, atlas pages, dials, gauges, sample reports, drawings, procedures, correction tables, and operation and safety manuals
- Ability to install, test, repair, and maintain measurement and regulation equipment
- Ability to use, maintain, and repair tools and equipment used to regulate gas flow
- Ability to apply basic arithmetic and formulas to validate volume calculations and corrections
- Ability to communicate and exchange written and verbal information and instructions
- Ability to climb ladders and maintain balance on elevated work surfaces
- Ability to work in confined areas
- Ability to react immediately to emergency situations
- Ability to operate required tools and equipment
- Ability to travel over uneven terrain and work in varied environmental conditions
- Electrical background and flow computer experience strongly preferred
- Direct industry experience preferred; automation or similar technical backgrounds may provide transferable skills
- Applicable driver’s license may be required if assigned a company vehicle
- Must meet physical demands of medium work, including lifting 20–50 pounds occasionally and 10–25 pounds frequently
- Must be able to travel to other locations
