About the role
- Lead execution of medium-capex facility projects ($1M–$50M) within the Natural Gas Gathering & Processing business from initiation through closeout
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, milestone plans, and control estimates
- Establish and manage all project contracts and purchase orders and ensure work is executed per agreements
- Coordinate cross-functional teams and third-party contractors to meet safety, quality, schedule, and cost objectives
- Provide regular progress updates, surface issues/delays, and drive mitigation plans while managing multiple concurrent projects
- Direct advanced planning, monitoring and managing of engineering projects including plant/process facility design, pipeline design, construction, operation and maintenance, SCADA/DCS/PLC, compressors, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, pumps, etc.
- Develop risk analysis models, probabilistic cost risk assessments, Monte Carlo simulations, and contingency plans
- Create detailed project scopes of work, execute change management procedures, and produce monthly progress reports
- Develop and implement stakeholder management plans and integrated project schedules; verify contractor schedule compliance
- Lead and build high-performing project teams; hire employees/contractors and allocate decision-making authority
- Facilitate process safety reviews associated with MOC and ensure alignment with project standards and procedures
- Prepare cost estimates, cost control procedures, benchmarking, and validate estimates with peers
- Provide technical and engineering assistance to other departments, management, regulators, and external stakeholders
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Petroleum engineering (preferred)
- Experience at this level is typically attained with seven or more years of experience in engineering, operations and/or project management
- Experience managing construction, contracts, purchase orders, and third-party vendors
- Experience with all phases of advanced project management including scoping, estimating, specification, scheduling, contracting and procurement, construction, commissioning and startup, budgeting, financial analyses, and regulatory compliance
- Experience reading and interpreting governmental regulations, codes, and standards, manuals, policies, procedures, contracts, specifications, and various reports and correspondence
- Experience researching, composing, preparing, and administering contracts, engineering studies, policies, procedures, reports, and technical correspondence
- Experience developing information and making presentations to groups and individuals
- Experience coordinating teams from various workgroups and managing relationships with internal and external participants
- Experience with project management productivity tools and software; Microsoft required and PROCORE preferred
- Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred
- Ability to effectively interface with internal and external business partners at all levels with excellent written and oral interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to perform project risk analysis and develop simulation models including Monte Carlo simulation
- Ability to develop project execution, commissioning, decommissioning, HSE, information management, stakeholder management, and interface management plans
- Must be able to travel; may require company vehicle and applicable driver's license
