About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manages and maintains assigned book of business, including but not limited to RFP activity, client implementations and escalated service topics
  • Serves in a consulting capacity for clients in conjunction with Benefits Consultants and Client Executives on select group opportunities
  • Manages RFP creation and marketing process, including spreadsheeting for all ancillary quotes
  • Delegates work assignments to internal service team members as necessary, following up and coordinating outcomes for clients
  • Manages the sold case process for all assigned accounts
  • Supports the broker in online portal and paper submissions for each carrier implementation, keeping broker up to date on status, completion and next steps
  • Builds relationships with brokers through proactive communications
  • Communicates and educates brokers on latest ancillary trends, concerns, and changes in the industry
  • Advises clients in reducing costs while offering competitive benefits options
  • Assists in growing the book of business through cross-sale opportunities when available
  • Effectively and efficiently manages complex accounts and high-level service deliverables
  • Provides leadership within the extended service team and has a strong sense of ownership

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3+ years’ experience in account management or in a consultative role
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Must be self-motivated and disciplined, with a strong sense of ownership
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be very detail-oriented
  • Demonstrate leadership capabilities and collaborative mindset
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced environment and balance competing priorities
  • Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office products; required
  • Familiarity and practical knowledge of quoting process and tools; preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferred
  • Experience with database applications, a plus
