About the role
- Lead and mentor a team of supervisors and technical staff, supporting growth and development across all experience levels.
- Foster a culture of open communication, trust, collaboration, and alignment with the Substation & Power Generation team’s vision.
- Oversee project execution and quality assurance to ensure successful delivery of substation design projects.
- Monitor group performance, workload, and utilization to identify improvement opportunities and implement strategies that enhance efficiency.
- Guide process development and resource planning to support operational excellence across project lifecycles.
- Serve as a client-facing leader, building strong relationships and representing Olsson with professionalism and deep technical understanding.
- Help team members connect their technical contributions to the broader goals and long-term direction of the Substation & Power Generation team and the organization.
Requirements
- Strong communication, leadership, and management skills.
- An ability to attract, develop, and retain talented staff who deliver results.
- Strong background in process development, resource planning, and driving consistency across project teams.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to connect with all levels of an organization and foster a transparent, collaborative environment.
- At least four years of experience supervising technical personnel, with a demonstrated ability to lead through others and support teams across varying experience levels.
- 8+ years of technical experience in substation design or related high-voltage electrical infrastructure.
- A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, engineering technology, or a related field is preferred. An associate degree with equivalent experience will also be considered.
