About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop the Market Access Payer strategic plan and vision for business opportunities in national and regional markets
  • Support the launch of palazestrant, future indications, and additional therapies
  • Analyze coverage, reimbursement, payer policies, formulary listings, competition, trends, pricing, contracting strategies, and access barriers
  • Inform and influence key opinion leaders within target organizations and accounts on outcomes and public policy matters
  • Develop engagement strategies and tactical plans to establish payer formulary coverage and access within key accounts
  • Drive strategic/national account management plans for regional and national payers and large healthcare systems
  • Lead and inspire a team of national account directors
  • Collaborate with commercial leadership and executive management on payer and organized customer access strategy, offerings, pricing, and contracting
  • Recruit, train, and manage Payer/GPO/Organized customer account professionals
  • Partner with Market Access, Payer Marketing, Trade and Channel Management, Patient Support Services, and Marketing on formulary placement and coverage initiatives
  • Leverage strategic payer and provider account relationships, including C-suite relationships, to communicate product value propositions
  • Own key Olema Oncology account relationships and develop customer roadmaps, segmentation, and account plans
  • Drive contracted customer pull-through and contract compliance
  • Collaborate with field teams to identify and mitigate access barriers
  • Lead payer discussions to secure long-term brand partnerships
  • Manage budgets and vendors for timely, fiscally responsible project execution
  • Create tools and content for payers and healthcare decision-makers with internal and external partners

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 15+ years of bio/pharmaceutical experience required, with a key understanding of current US pharmaceutical payer models
  • 10+ years of direct US Payer and/or Provider Account management experience (NAM, RAM, KAM)
  • 5+ years of people management experience
  • Previous experience working in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry required, with strong preference in Oncology
  • Successful product launch experience in the US required, with a preference for Oncology drug launch
  • Strong knowledge of the oncology oral therapies marketplace and experience working with key decision makers within Organized accounts and institutions to pull through access with important customers
  • In-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturer compliance requirements, patient confidentiality (HIPAA regulations), product reimbursement and product access
  • Knowledge and experience in Medicare Part A-D, Medicaid, VA/DoD and commercial payer policies, reimbursement process, health policy, coverage and payment
  • Experience partnering with Payers and IDNs to establish patient and HCP pull-through support programs
  • Demonstrated experience in process development for coordination with HUB, co-pay, and other patient service providers
  • Demonstrated skills in business planning and payer strategy development with strong problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills and financial acumen required to manage complex customer engagements and contractual agreements
  • Strong communication and influencing abilities
  • Experience with Commercial Brand Planning process and translating brand disease state and business drivers into payer programs
  • Ability to translate and compile data into comprehensive and functional reports
  • Strong leadership, teamwork, cross-functional collaboration, organization, detail orientation, and written/oral communication skills
  • Bachelor's Degree required; degree in health sciences or business/marketing preferred
