About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Audit and remediate existing stateful scaling logic.
  • Implement graceful shutdown protocols and dirty-cache synchronization to prevent data loss during scaling events.
  • Take ownership of partially implemented systems and complete them by connecting backend logic to frontend RPC calls.
  • Decouple database versioning and configuration from the codebase.
  • Replace legacy shell-script deployments with containerized CI/CD pipelines.
  • Establish automated integration testing for Midas IAP validations, custom data synchronization, and guild permission systems.
  • Coordinate directly with Tencent infrastructure support teams.
  • Collaborate with the Vancouver team on architecture, code reviews, and live-operations incident response.
  • Take technical ownership of the live-service game’s microservice backend.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of professional backend software engineering experience.
  • At least 3 years focused on high-concurrency multiplayer game servers or live-service platforms.
  • High proficiency in Node.js and JavaScript/TypeScript within a microservices environment.
  • Deep understanding of stateful backend scaling, consistent hashing, memory management, and distributed caching strategies.
  • Strong NoSQL database experience in high-throughput read/write scenarios.
  • Native-level Mandarin fluency.
  • Professional-level English for meetings, documentation, and code reviews.
  • Willingness to accommodate meetings during China morning hours while working in the Pacific Time zone.
  • Prior experience with Jenkins is preferred.
  • Prior hands-on experience deploying to Tencent InGame PaaS is preferred.
  • Direct experience with TcaplusDB table configuration and data management is preferred.
  • Familiarity integrating and securing Tencent Midas, WeGame, and ACE SDKs is preferred.
