About the role

  • Development and implementation of global material group strategies.
  • Supplier management (selection, evaluation, development, relationship management, supplier audits).
  • Negotiation and conclusion of framework agreements and pricing arrangements.
  • Conducting risk analyses.
  • Supplier approval and maintenance of the approved supplier list.
  • Implementation of cost reduction programs and benchmarking.
  • Market and technology analyses (market development reports), participation in trade fairs, supplier visits, and make-or-buy decisions.
  • Project support at defined gate points only (supplier strategy, contract approval).
  • Escalation level for series production purchasing.

Requirements

  • Degree in engineering or business administration, or a completed commercial apprenticeship with several years of purchasing experience in an industrial company
  • Experience in international sourcing and proven negotiation success
  • Strong negotiation skills and excellent conceptual and strategic thinking
  • High technical affinity combined with a consistently commercial mindset
  • Ability to work in a team and perform well under pressure
  • Very good command of English
  • Willingness to travel
  • Confident user of the MS Office suite and good user skills in SAP/S4
