Radio Frequency Hardware Designer
OctasicRadio Frequency Hardware Designer at Octasic, involved in RF systems design and debugging for wireless technology. Collaborating on new RF products and providing support for production and customers.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist in the design of radio frequency systems and in the debugging of existing RF products
- Collaboratively design a variety of RF boards according to PLM team requests
- Travel up to twice per year
- Participate in the development of the architecture for new RF products
- Perform transmit and receive chain analyses
- Write hardware and software system requirements to ensure proper RF system operation
- Develop system test plans and produce analyses of the results
- Optimize gain control and power detection
- Design RF PCBs
- Schematic capture
- Participate in hardware and software design reviews
- Technical management of subcontractors: specification review, design review, audits and evaluation
- Provide second-line support for production and customers
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in RF circuit design operating up to 6 GHz
- Strong proficiency in transmit and receive RF chain analysis
- Ability to analyze and manage interference to optimize system performance in RF-hostile environments
- Good understanding of nonlinear effects produced by high-power RF amplifiers
- Good understanding of analog and software-controlled feedback/servo loops
- Effective communication in French and English (oral and written) with our clients
- Good knowledge of laboratory equipment (RF test equipment, spectrum analyzer, VNA, ...)
- Assets: Proficiency with specialized software such as Microwave Office, PAD; Knowledge of cellular technologies (GSM, CDMA, UMTS, LTE…); Ability to explain fundamental RF principles to non-experts; Experience in microwave and millimeter-wave circuit design; Familiarity with FCC/ISED/3GPP standards for cellular products; Experience with spectral emission conformance and EMC testing
