About the role
- Develop and maintain Observador’s design system, ensuring consistency across all platforms (web, apps, and third‑party platforms)
- Act as the design system’s “gardener” — cultivate, prune, and grow it sustainably
- Take part in strategy meetings and advocate for design solutions grounded in solid methodology
- Produce clear documentation and processes that enable the team to work autonomously
- Collaborate closely with product, editorial, and engineering teams
Requirements
- Proven experience creating and managing design systems in complex digital environments
- Strong mastery of grids, typography, and modular design principles
- Minimalist, functional approach to design with a focus on information clarity
- Ability to think systemically and deliver scalable solutions
- Excellent communication skills with non‑design stakeholders
- Experience in media/publishing
- Familiarity with modern design system tools (Figma)
- At least a conceptual understanding of front‑end development
- Portfolio demonstrating systematic and methodical work
