About the role
- Lead the development and implementation of security technical strategy, architecture, configurations, and requirements
- Perform threat modeling, select and design effective security controls, and evaluate implementations to ensure robust protection
- Develop and champion a roadmap for evolving the County’s enterprise infrastructure architecture from its current state to a future-forward vision
- Coordinate and oversee solution architecture implementation and modification activities to ensure alignment with strategic objectives
- Lead the evaluation and selection of software and hardware standards and design standard configurations for enterprise systems
- Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to ensure systems align with architectural plans and adjust strategies as needed to support project goals
- Provide expert guidance on technical architecture projects, especially those involving new or shared infrastructure solutions
- Partner closely with the Enterprise Architecture Program and Information Security Program to ensure alignment between strategy, delivery, and security requirements
Requirements
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a field directly related to their operating division’s subject matter
- Have had at least five (5) years of full-time work experience in enterprise-scale architecture/engineering involving cloud/platform modernization, network/compute/storage strategy, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and observability/ Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) work
- Experience with threat modeling, selecting and designing effective security controls, and evaluating implementations
- Previous experience with penetration testing is highly valued
- Ability to collaborate with Enterprise Architecture Program, Application Services, and Information Security Program teams
- Experience in evaluation and selection of software and hardware standards and designing standard configurations for enterprise systems
