Mechanical Engineer 3 – R&D
NuScale PowerMechanical Engineer designing systems and components for NuScale’s microreactor technology. Collaborate with teams on product development and mechanical design analysis.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- report to the manager for product development
- be part of a dynamic high impact team focused on developing NuScale’s microreactor technology
- responsible for the mechanical design of systems and components
- support design trade studies
- perform thermal mechanical design analysis for static stress, fatigue, and creep
- product cost modeling
- support instrumentation selection and instrumentation design integration
- support system and component design development for test facilities
- perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
What you’ll need- A minimum of B.S. degree in Nuclear, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering from a four year accredited college or university.
- Minimum of 5 years of full-time, directly relevant engineering experience in mechanical design of systems and components, including expertise with structural analysis using ANSYS, is required.
- Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.
