About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Performs and documents evaluations of components to the rules and requirements of Section III of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code
- Utilizes the results from these evaluations to optimize component(s) design
- Interprets scope and project requirements
- Acquires, maintains and develops training qualifications
- Interacts with co-workers and other disciplines to promote effective coordination of design activities and resolution of technical problems
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- A minimum of a B.S. degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering, from a four year ABET accredited college or university is required
- Minimum of 6 years of full-time relevant working experience is required
- Experience utilizing ANSYS to perform stress analysis in accordance with Section III of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code
- Direct experience with ANSYS finite element software and CAD packages
- Additional experience in seismic/dynamic analysis is desired
- Computer programming skills (e.g., ANSYS APDL, Matlab, Python)
- Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810
