Corporate Paralegal
NuScale PowerCorporate Paralegal role supporting NuScale's legal department and Board, ensuring compliance and coordination across multiple functions. Responsible for documentation and filing related tasks.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer (CLO)
- Viewed as a critical liaison between NuScale’s legal department and other departments within the organization
- Interact with NuScale’s Board
- Coordinates correspondence with Board and committees
- Prepares and posts Board and committee books
- Takes minutes at meetings
- Tracks attendance and status of minutes
- Serves as Diligent site administrator
- Assists with Section 16 filings and preparation of other reports filed with the SEC
- Works with other departments to coordinate legal and compliance matters
- Ensures that documentation requests from outside counsel, courts, regulatory agencies and others are handled effectively and timely
- Oversees secretary of state filings and applications across multiple jurisdictions
- Responsible for maintaining and updated legal files
- Assists with corporate document retention programs
- Responsible for expanding and maintaining existing corporate electronic databases software
- Acts as liaison between company attorneys, outside counsel, organizations and management
- Serves as EA for Chief Legal Officer, managing calendar, travel and expense reports
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of Associate degree or experience as a Legal Secretary in excess of the minimum required
- Notary Public Certificate preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of full-time working experience as a corporate paralegal or legal secretary, preferably in an energy, utility or EPC project environment
- Must have prior experience working at or with publicly traded companies
- Must have demonstrated success with effectively working directly with attorneys as a corporate paralegal/legal secretary and demonstrated experience in supporting corporate governance and corporate secretary matters
- Proficiency with Diligent, Workiva
- Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810
