About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Interns will have the ability to increase to 40 hours/week during the summer.
Work may be fully remote, or we can accommodate those from local colleges and universities who prefer to work in either our Corvallis, OR or Houston, TX office locations.
Candidates will work in close collaboration with NuScale engineers to complete a range of general engineering efforts.
These efforts may include preparation of engineering deliverables to support areas such as: Manufacturing & Procurement Engineering, Systems Engineering, Nuclear Analysis & Thermal-Hydraulics, Refueling & Remote Handling, Civil/Structural Engineering, Radiological Engineering, NSSS System Analysis, NSSS Component Engineering, NSSS Piping & Integration, and Research & Development (R&D).

Requirements

What you’ll need

Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate engineering, or related degree program.
A minimum of two years advanced experience using MS Word, Excel, Adobe PDF.
Ability to understand engineering concepts, principles, theories.
Strong technical writing skills.
Good communication, computer, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Exceptional organization skills and ability to manage complex projects with multiple work phases.
Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.
