About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Drive culturally safe legal services while mentoring the next generation of lawyers
  • Provide effective and timely support to disadvantaged Aboriginal clients
  • Supervise, mentor and support others within the team
  • Ensure all work meets relevant policies and requirements while managing caseload and related administrative tasks efficiently

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Hold Australian or NZ citizenship, Australian Permanent Residency or a valid visa to work in Australia
  • Undertake relevant pre-employment checks such as Working with Children Check, Criminal Record Check, and Conduct Service Check
  • Have Legal Qualification/s
  • Be admitted or eligible for admission as a legal practitioner in NSW
  • Provide a current unrestricted NSW Practising Certificate before you start work with us
  • Be willing and have capacity to travel regularly to regional and remote areas or have a valid driver licence
  • Be a Registered practitioner of the High Court of Australia as per provisions of section 55B of the Judiciary Act 1903 (Cth)
  • Have experience in, and understanding and knowledge of, working in Aboriginal communities
