About the role

Design and manage secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud solutions—primarily in Microsoft Azure.
Lead Azure platform engineering efforts such as configuring Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Policy, and secure landing zones.
Implement governance through RBAC and tagging; integrate Zero Trust security principles.
Optimize cloud spend, support hybrid cloud integration, and forecast/create budgets for cloud services.
Define information requirements for infrastructure-as-code using Terraform and automate secure, policy-compliant deployments.
Collaborate with IT, security, and DevOps teams to modernize infrastructure and ensure operational resilience.
Ensure compliance with federal mandates (FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, EO 14028, CNSSI 1253) and internal security policies.
Monitor and optimize cloud spend using Azure Cost Management and Azure Advisor; provide architectural oversight for cloud migration and modernization projects.

Active DoD Secret clearance required!
Certifications: Required certifications in Cloud Architecture/Engineer or similar certification.
Education: Minimum bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science or a related field.
Minimum 8 years of experience in Cloud Architecture and Cyber Security.
Systems Tools Familiarity: Jira, ServiceNow, SharePoint, CloudFlare, GitHub, Salesforce Dataverse.
MS Defender suite to include: Defender for endpoint, Cloud apps, MS Sentinel.
Experience with Sentinel One, Splunk, Tenable for vulnerability management and Continuous Monitoring.
Experience with NetApp and Microsoft Azure for backups and storage.
Familiarity with FISMA, NIST, OMB, and other federal cybersecurity compliance standards. (Additional Experience Desired)
Experience working with DOC or similar federal agencies. (Additional Experience Desired)
Ability to work at NTIA Headquarters, Washington, DC.
