About the role
- Design and manage secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud solutions—primarily in Microsoft Azure.
- Lead Azure platform engineering efforts such as configuring Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Policy, and secure landing zones.
- Implement governance through RBAC and tagging; integrate Zero Trust security principles.
- Optimize cloud spend, support hybrid cloud integration, and forecast/create budgets for cloud services.
- Define information requirements for infrastructure-as-code using Terraform and automate secure, policy-compliant deployments.
- Collaborate with IT, security, and DevOps teams to modernize infrastructure and ensure operational resilience.
- Ensure compliance with federal mandates (FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, EO 14028, CNSSI 1253) and internal security policies.
- Monitor and optimize cloud spend using Azure Cost Management and Azure Advisor; provide architectural oversight for cloud migration and modernization projects.
Requirements
- Active DoD Secret clearance required!
- Certifications: Required certifications in Cloud Architecture/Engineer or similar certification.
- Education: Minimum bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in Cloud Architecture and Cyber Security.
- Systems Tools Familiarity: Jira, ServiceNow, SharePoint, CloudFlare, GitHub, Salesforce Dataverse.
- MS Defender suite to include: Defender for endpoint, Cloud apps, MS Sentinel.
- Experience with Sentinel One, Splunk, Tenable for vulnerability management and Continuous Monitoring.
- Experience with NetApp and Microsoft Azure for backups and storage.
- Familiarity with FISMA, NIST, OMB, and other federal cybersecurity compliance standards. (Additional Experience Desired)
- Experience working with DOC or similar federal agencies. (Additional Experience Desired)
- Ability to work at NTIA Headquarters, Washington, DC.
