About the role

  • Provide advanced systems administration, engineering, and operational support for enterprise IT environments within the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Critical Cloud and Infrastructure Support (CCIS) program.
  • Responsible for installing, configuring, monitoring, and maintaining mission-critical systems across on-premise, virtual, and cloud-integrated environments while ensuring compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) cybersecurity requirements.
  • Install, configure, administer, and maintain enterprise server systems across Windows and Linux operating environments.
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity; proactively identify and remediate issues affecting service delivery.
  • Perform system patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management in accordance with DISA STIGs and DoD policies.
  • Design, implement, and maintain high availability, backup, and disaster recovery solutions for enterprise systems.
  • Provide tier III troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex system, hardware, and software issues.
  • Coordinate with network, virtualization, database, and cybersecurity teams to ensure integrated and secure system operations.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation including system build guides, standard operating procedures, and architecture diagrams.
  • Support automation and configuration management using tools such as Ansible, PowerShell, Bash, or Terraform.
  • Participate in security audits, vulnerability remediation, and RMF activities to maintain compliance and audit readiness.
  • Mentor junior administrators and provide technical leadership during system outages and critical incidents.

Requirements

  • Must possess an active Secret clearance and be eligible for IT-I (Tier 5/SSBI) / Critical Sensitive access.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II baseline certification (e.g., Security+, CASP+, or CISSP).
  • One of the following Google Cloud Platform certifications: Associate Cloud Engineer or Professional Cloud Architect.
  • Plus one or more of the following certifications:
  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional)
  • AWS Certified SysOps Administrator
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate
  • Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Cloud Operations
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
  • Seven (7) years of progressive experience in systems administration supporting enterprise IT environments.
  • Hands-on experience administering both Windows Server and Linux operating systems in large-scale environments.
  • Experience supporting high availability, disaster recovery, and data replication solutions.
  • Strong understanding of virtualization technologies and integration with VMware or cloud platforms.
  • Knowledge of DoD cybersecurity requirements including RMF, DISA STIGs, and audit processes.
  • Experience working in DoD or Federal information systems environments.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Minimum seven (7) years of progressive experience administering enterprise systems, with demonstrated expertise supporting mission-critical environments in DoD or Federal information systems.
  • Five (5) years of hands-on experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) IT hosting solutions.
  • Experience supporting and integrating systems across on-premise, virtual, and cloud environments.
  • Proficiency with automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell, or Bash.
  • Strong understanding of network fundamentals including VLANs, firewalls, VPNs, and routing concepts.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining DISA STIG compliance, patching, and audit readiness.
  • Knowledge of containerization or orchestration technologies such as Docker or OpenShift.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in high-pressure environments and resolve critical incidents.
