About the role

  • Design and build dimensional models and Data Warehouse / Data Mart architectures following best practices.
  • Develop robust analytical models in dbt, including: macros, snapshots, incremental models, SCD (Type 1 and 2), dimensions and facts according to Kimball.
  • Work with multidimensional modeling and relational (ER) modeling.
  • Apply Kimball methodology concepts, selecting the optimal strategy for each domain.
  • Translate business requirements into clear, scalable, and maintainable data models.
  • Build surrogate keys, historized dimensions, and versioning structures for the data warehouse.
  • Analyze complex queries, extract business concepts, and restructure models when necessary.
  • Implement transformation pipelines in dbt with a focus on organization, reuse, and governance.
  • Document business rules, model structures, and relationships in a clear and accessible way.
  • Ensure quality and consistency through tests, validations, and dbt best practices.

Requirements

  • Proven experience building Data Warehouses (ideally from scratch).
  • Deep expertise in multidimensional and relational (ER) modeling.
  • Solid knowledge of the Kimball methodology.
  • Strong hands-on experience with dbt and its core concepts: materializations, macros, snapshots, tests, documentation, lineage.
  • Advanced SQL skills, with the ability to analyze and optimize complex queries.
  • Experience with BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift or Databricks.
  • Ability to translate business rules into structured data models.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Python for simple automations.
  • Experience with data warehouse versioning (SCD Type 1/2 and surrogate keys).
