About the role
- Coordinate the development team, ensuring alignment with the digital news outlet's strategies.
- Oversee the evolution and maintenance of the website infrastructure, ensuring high performance, security, and scalability.
- Define and implement improvements in technical SEO, Core Web Vitals, and load optimization.
- Work on integrating platforms, APIs, and tools to automate processes.
- Monitor performance metrics and resolve issues related to performance and usability.
- Collaborate with UX/UI, content, and infrastructure teams to enhance the user experience.
- Ensure best practices in code versioning and CI/CD processes.
Requirements
- Proven experience in technical leadership and coordinating development teams.
- Strong knowledge of PHP (Laravel and WordPress), JavaScript (Vanilla, Node, and React/Next), HTML, and CSS, as well as web development best practices.
- Experience with WordPress (theme and plugin development/customization) and optimizing high-traffic sites.
- Knowledge of SQL/MySQL databases and query optimization.
- Familiarity with caching techniques, asynchronous loading, and image optimization.
- Experience with technical SEO and its impact on site performance.
- Proficient with Git and version control.
- Experience integrating REST APIs.
