About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee deployment, administration, safety, and operations of multiple manual, mine detection dog, and mechanical clearance teams
  • Manage and supervise teams across multiple worksites in accordance with NPA SOPs, implementation plans, and NMAS
  • Monitor operational progress, productivity, quality, safety, security, and compliance
  • Conduct risk assessment, site reconnaissance, desktop analysis, operational planning, and task implementation planning
  • Coordinate deployment of demining assets, including MDD and mechanical assets
  • Maintain community liaison and adapt implementation plans based on operational information
  • Deliver site safety briefings and manage communications between worksites, bases, and operational locations
  • Supervise administrative processes, documentation, reporting, and operational data contributions
  • Conduct quality control, internal quality control activities, and participate in non-conformity reviews and corrective action planning
  • Plan and implement CASEVAC and MEDEVAC procedures and coordinate responses to accidents or incidents
  • Suspend operations when safety, security, or contextual conditions require it
  • Oversee site handovers and explosive ordnance handovers to relevant authorities
  • Identify training needs and skills gaps in coordination with Operations and Quality Management teams
  • Manage staff welfare and maintain oversight of logistical procedures
  • Ensure drivers comply with vehicle safety requirements and traffic regulations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of one year of proven operational experience in humanitarian mine action in Ukraine, serving in a Team Leader role
  • Successful completion of a Basic Demining Course or internationally recognised equivalent
  • Completion of a Manual Team Leader Course or equivalent external qualification
  • Completion of a Site Supervisor Course or equivalent external qualification
  • Professional working proficiency in Ukrainian, spoken and written
  • Valid Category B driving licence
  • Ukrainian Sapper certificate desirable
  • Ability to communicate and write in English desirable
  • Quality Management Course desirable
  • Driving licences BE, C, CE desirable
  • EOD Level 2 or higher qualifications desirable
  • Proficiency in MS Office and GIS software desirable
  • Ability to create a team environment and manage large numbers of people effectively
  • Ability to plan for future operational requirements
  • Ability to make professional decisions without personal feelings affecting decision-making
  • Good interpersonal and effective communication skills
  • Proactive and positive attitude toward operational challenges
  • Excellent timekeeping
  • Willingness to learn and enhance personal skills
